A Kromeriz-based Plastika gains CZK60 million contract

A Kromeriz-based Plastika has concluded CZK60 million contract for Ford cars.

Plastika Kroměříž has concluded CZK60 million contract for supplies of plastic components for Ford cars. The company's new customer is a global supplier of special units for automotive industry specialised in electronic, electromechanic and optical components. The company management has provided the information.

The production of components will be divided into more than three years and will be done by a new method of nitrogen support injection moulding. This technology, into which Plastika has invested recently, enables production of complex parts having differences in wall thickness.

Plastika Joint Stock Company realized CZK671 million revenues in 2004 that represents 9% increase in comparison with the previous year. Major part of the revenues was made up by keyboards production. However, significant growth of production for automotive industry has been noticed as well. The company reached the profit amounting to CZK29,7 million last year.

Plastika was formed in Kroměříž in 1956 as a co-operative society of handicapped workers. The company was transformed into Joint Stock Company in 2003. Still more than a half of employees comprises of handicapped or disabled persons and thus the company can provide substitute services such as purchase of finished products or contract manufacturing. Plastika currently employs 300 people.
